The team are delighted to announce that CVS Ferrari, a leading manufacturer for high-capacity forklift trucks and container handling equipment, has selected Windsor Materials Handling as their official distributor for the UK, effective June 2024. This partnership aligns perfectly with our strategic commitment to strengthening our core product offering through trusted, structured collaborations and enables us to drive forward with our growth into the ports and terminals sector.
The integration of CVS Ferrari’s advanced product portfolio, including modern, energy-saving reach stackers and heavy-duty forklifts with capacities from 20 to 48 tonnes, as well as innovative diesel-electric-hybrid and fully electric container handlers, enhances our already comprehensive offering. This partnership will allow us to provide our customers with state-of-the-art equipment that meets the highest industry standards.
Founded in 1976, Windsor has built a reputation for excellence in materials handling and access systems which has been successfully sustained for over 45 years. Over this period, Windsor has grown into the largest independently owned materials handling company in the UK, now boasting 13 branches nationwide. The company remains family-owned and operated to this day, with this structure in place ensuring longevity, integrity, and flexibility for its customers – something rare in the current age. This combined with the corporate DNA introduced by Managing Director Stephen Burton, has enabled Windsor to offer the professionalism and financial security of a large corporation but, at the same time, not holding the constraints that come with rigid management structures and decision-making processes.
Our branch locations play a key role in our ability to deliver exceptional service. Our Immingham branch strategically located just 1.7 miles from the dock, and our Southampton branch, situated 10 miles from the Port of Southampton, ensure rapid access to key shipping hubs. Additionally, our Leigh branch, within 30 miles of the Port of Peel, and our Chelmsford branch, located within an hour of Felixstowe, London Gateway and Tilbury, exemplify our extensive reach and capability to serve across the UK. Each branch is equipped to respond within a 4-hour window, ensuring swift and efficient service to our customers.
Stephen Burton comments; “Supporting our strategic expansion into this sector is the recent appointment of Alex Beddow, our ports and terminals specialist assigned to support growth plans within a sector that we already have a good foothold in. Alex brings over 30 years of industry expertise to Windsor, including 10 years leading sales activity in the Ports and Terminals division at Kalmar. Alex’s deep industry knowledge and experience in port-specific challenges make him a vital asset to Windsor, enabling us to deliver tailored solutions for this specialist sector.”
