The Outlook for the UK Forklift Truck Market
Signs of Recovery and Future Opportunities
The UK forklift truck market faced a tough year, with companies delaying investments and feeling the impact of rising costs and uncertainty. But things are looking up. According to the UK Material Handling Association and Oxford Economics, confidence is expected to return in 2026 as inflation drops and financing becomes easier.
Sales of forklift trucks are predicted to rise by 9.4% in 2026, with counterbalance truck orders up 8.2% and warehouse trucks jumping 10.1%. Even though 2025 saw a dip, especially in warehouse trucks, the market is set for a steady recovery into 2027, with more gradual growth expected.
New companies entering the UK market show that people believe in the strength of the industry. The big IMHX logistics event in September 2027 will be a key moment for the sector. UKMHA CEO Rob Fisher says this period of change is not a setback, but a chance to get ready for the future. He encourages businesses to start planning in early 2026, so they are prepared to make the most of new opportunities.
